New (Nantucket Empowering Women) Moon Fest, a signature event of Nantucket Community Television, is a place where women’s voices rise in reclamation – through film, connection, and education.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Sconset Casino and A Safe Place is proud to be a sponsor bringing special guest MILCK to the fest.
MILCK is a Billboard chart-topping, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle UK-honored singer-songwriter whose work from the song “Quiet” to “Sisters of Winter” has long explored voice, visibility, and what it means to be heard.
One of the seven films being showcased at this year’s NEW Moon Fest is “I can’t Keep Quiet”, a short documentary that follows MILCK on her healing journey after being silenced by a past of abuse and domestic violence (events that led to the artist writing the song “Quiet”).
As Nantucket’s domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy and counseling center offering 100% free and confidential services to survivors (including a 24-hour emergency hotline), it’s an important part of our mission to provide education and connection to the island community via collaborations that promote change.
A Safe Place strengthens the Nantucket community by supporting and empowering adults and children impacted by domestic and sexual violence and abuse, while also leading education, awareness, and prevention efforts.
